...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
SATURDAY 7/12 UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site today:
-UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo eviscerated Chad Mendes in an interview with Brazil's Combate this week, responding to the challenger accusing him of running by accusing Mendes of PED use in an off hand comment. See his heated comments with further thoughts in the main listing at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-The UFC on Fox 12 event got a bit of a shakeup this weekend, as Michael Johnson suffered an injury, taking him out of a fight with Josh Thomson on the main card. He's been replaced by Bobby Green, whose originally scheduled opponent for August, Abel Trujillo, will now take on Ross Pearson in Maine. More on the shakeup and those fighters in the main listing.
-Speaking of the UFC on Fox 12 card, two hours of the prelims into the main card will now also be airing on Fox as well. Fox Sports 1 will be airing a Major League Baseball game during the day, so the UFC is benefiting with four hours on network television. More in the main listing.
-After locking up Holly Holm to a deal, UFC President Dana White says he's determined to get a deal done with Gina Carano next. To that end, he said he and Lorenzo Fertitta are planning on flying to LA to lock something up this week. More thoughts on the situation in the main listing.
-UFC's Director of Operations for Canada, New Zealand, and Australia Tom Wright today discussed the move of the Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson rematch from Toronto as scheduled for UFC 178 on Sept. 27 to Las Vegas. See his comments and more in the main listing.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
