-We've got a bunch of follow up on last night's UFC on Fox 11 event in the main listing at MMATorch.com in the new mobile version of our site in your phone or tablet web browser. The new site's been designed specifically for the mobile browser experience on iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Android tablets, so keep up to speed with all of our full articles as they go up by bookmarking us now! You can also make an easy to access home screen button to bring you directly to the main listing. We'll have new improvements to the user experience and interface coming this week as well!
-Rich Hansen, Cash Norman, and Frank Hyden joined me in a roundtable review late last night of the UFC on Fox 11 event. We each gave our “night of” responses to the card, with the majority consensus being that it was a good event for the UFC. Hyden was our lone dissenter, a bit disappointed with some of the fights and not really liking the night's main event, which to be fair was quite slow from midway into the third round until the final minute of the bout. Excerpt from Rich Hansen: “OK, so the night can't be considered a big win for Travis Browne, who laid an egg so potent that Daenerys Targaryen will use it to take control of the Iron Throne. The masses who were on Browne going into this fight, myself definitely included, fell prey to recency illusion and assumed that Browne would need less than three minutes to send Fabricio Werdum's brain into his groin.”
-Bonuses on the card went to Donald Cerrone, Thiago Alves, Seth Baczynski, and Alex White. Alves came back after a two year absence to win a bonus, and his fight, making for a nice story, but I think the “Fight of the Night” should have gone to Dustin Ortiz and Ray Borg on the Fight Pass prelims. Full details on the bonus winning efforts at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser.
-Miesha Tate picked up her first win in the UFC last night with her decision over Liz Carmouche, and after the fight looked ahead to her next outing. Gina Carano's name came up as a potential opponent with the former “Face of Women's MMA” in talks with the UFC, and Tate absolutely wants that fight. I think it's the perfect matchup if Carano's going to fight. Tate's comments from last night and further analysis in the main listing now!
-Dana White said after the event that Travis Browne may have broken his rib and hand in the first round of his fight with Fabricio Werdum. Reaction to that news and its effect on the fight at MMATorch.com.
-Finally, the UFC announced dates last night for two new UFC Fight Night cards in the U.S. This summer. They'll hit Atlantic City on July 16, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 23. More on that with analysis at MMATorch.com!
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we work through the brand new mobile site launch!
