I’ve gotten numerous emails this past week asking me where the aMMAzing Week in Review column has gone. I emailed everyone back with the same answer, and I’d like to offer an explanation to the other readers who may be wondering the same thing. I’ve mentioned that I’m a 34 year old who decided to go back to PT school in previous columns, but I failed to mention how much time I dedicate to school, and to my column. To make a short story long, I’m spent. In the next eleven days I’ll have three tests, one practical, two final practicals, and four cumulative final exams. That may not sound like much, but if anything is missed on any of the final practicals, I fail. Basically, I didn’t realize how much time my column was going to take before I committed to writing it, and for that I truly apologize. It may be because I’ve never written before, but my column took me anywhere from 10-12 hours per week to write, and I just can’t afford to spend that time not studying right now.
The goal of my column is to inform the readers of not only MMA news from the past week, but to also add my opinion when necessary. I take a lot of pride in what I submit because I want to make sure the people who read it leave the page knowing that time and effort were put in to make it enjoyable and informative. I spoke with Wade last week with full intentions of walking away from writing for the time being, but after our discussion, we’ve decided that I should stay on in a scaled down format for the time being. I will be back to do a weekly review when school slows down a little bit, and hopefully that will be in a month or less.
Lastly, I’d like to thank Wade and Jamie for giving me the opportunity to write for MMATorch.com. I’ve gotten to talk/email/text with some incredible people that I otherwise never would’ve met if not for my affiliation with their website. I encourage anyone who reads my column, and is interested in writing for MMATorch, to submit an application to Wade at: mmatorch@gmail.com.
Once again, thanks for taking the time to read An aMMAzing Week in Review, and I really hope you see me around here for a long time to come!
