Who wins the Junior dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem co-main event at UFC on Fox 17, and how?

MICHAEL BANE, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

The traveling MMA Columnist says: JDS overcomes some brutal shots from Ubereem and knocks the former Strikeforce champ out in the second round. Overeem bets on himself and loses, and the danger of JDS vs. Velasquez IV comes one step closer to reality.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I'm going with JDS by 1st round TKO. I think this fight ends early, and in explosive fashion. I expect both guys to come out swinging and trying to impress their way into the title picture. That said, there's a very real possibility that this fight turns into a dud decision. A nightmare scenario is that this turns into a plodding heavyweight fight with little action and much frustration on the part of viewers. I'm expecting the former, but I also have to be prepared for the latter.

BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

JDS hasn't looked right to me since the last beating he took from Cain. He's not the fighter he was and this goes greatly in Overeem's favor. Had this fight happened when it was initially booked JDS would have crushed the demolition man, now I believe the tides have turned and we will see Overeem use his new and more strategic approach to win this fight.

DAYNE FOX, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Both are technically sound and hard hitters, so I'll go with the guy whose chin has proven to be sturdier in dos Santos. Had I been making this prediction before dos Santos' third bout with Cain Velasquez, I would have absolutely no doubts. After the beating he took there and against Stipe Miocic, I have no clue how much longer dos Santos' chin can last. Thus I'm making the prediction with a pinch of salt as I know Overeem is fully capable of putting out the former champion. I'll say dos Santos finishes the Dutchman in the second round via TKO via GNP following a signature uppercut.
