Who wins the Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier main event at UFC 187, and how?

DAYNE FOX, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

This is not easy to predict. Johnson is a powerhouse capable of ending a fight at any time, while Cormier is a bulldozer who can take anyone to the ground. I'm picking Johnson as I find it hard to believe that he won't land a fight ending shot at some point. I also have visions of Phil Davis bouncing off of him in my head as Johnson's takedown defense is incredible. Cormier's wrestling has translated much better to MMA than Davis' has, but I still expect Cormier to struggle getting Johnson down the way he struggled with Jones. It should be a can't miss affair.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I think Johnson knocks Cormier out in the first round. It's not that I think that Cormier is some bum or anything, but Johnson has so much power that he can end fights with shots that really shouldn't be fight-enders. I know I've been hard on Cormier in the past, but it's not because I think he's a bad fighter. Cormier is a very good fighter, but Johnson has been laying guys out. Johnson completely destroyed Alexander Gustafsson, who is a very good fighter in his own right. That's the same Gustafsson who went five rounds with Jon Jones, and Rumble blasted him out in a few minutes. I expect a damn exciting fight, but one that doesn't last all that long. I think Rumble comes out looking to take Cormier's head off, and he does.

KALE HAVERVOLD, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I really think this second coming of Anthony Johnson is something special. I believe he will get the win over Cormier and it will be by knockout.

BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Anthony Johnson beats wrestlers. Daniel Cormier is one of the best on the planet, not only in MMA but at wrestling. I am taking Rumble to win the belt and go forward to defeat a returning Jon Jones in his next bout.

DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK COLUMNIST

Anthony Johnson has better takedown accuracy and better takedown defence then Daniel Cormier based on past UFC fights. People assume Cormier will dominate this part of the fight, and although they're probably right, it won't be a walk in the park. Cormier will get more success in the clinch keeping Johnson very close. So, unless Johnson lands a big combination like he did against Gustafsson, this could be a dull fight with Cormier taking a controlling decision win to become the new champion.
