Myles Jury picked up his sixth straight UFC win on Saturday in Japan, knocking out Takanori Gomi; what's the next step for him in the UFC, and do you think he can find his way into the top 5 mix of the UFC in the next 18-24 months? Why or why not?
DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK COLUMNIST
I really like how the UFC are managing Myles Jury right now, and I hope it continues for a little while longer. He's not the finished article, and leaving him out of the title picture until he is, makes a lot of sense to me. He's improving with every fight, and against Takanori Gomi he showed a clinical side to his game that has been lacking for a while.
For his next fight, I have no problem with the UFC matching Jury up against someone coming off a win, or a loss. They should definitely be ranked this time, but the opponent's recent record of results shouldn't matter. It just needs to be a small step up the ladder. Any of Bobby Green, Jim Miller, or Josh Thomson works for me, but my personal preference is Jorge Masvidal, providing he wins well at UFC 178. If Jury keeps on winning a title shot could be his heading into 2016, but it's unlikely it's anytime before that point.

I think he can and will be in the top five mix within the next few years. He seems to be getting better and better with each fight. I think top five is a very realistic goal for Jury. His win over Gomu was a nice one, and something that he can build upon.

I think a logical next step is a fight between him and Bobby Green. And yeah, I could potentially see Jury get into the top five, but he needs some wins against some highly ranked opponents before I put him in that conversation.

Myles Jury is quietly going about his business whilst moving up the lightweight division. He's really impressing me each time he enters the Octagon.
Jury hasn't been protected by the UFC, or been handed an easy route up the lightweight ladder like some fighters. He's gotten to where he is now by defeating some very tough opponents, and gaining valuable experience.
There's no doubt in my mind Jury can and will be a top five fighter within the division in a year's time. Though what's more important is to carry his impressive form, and the rest will take care of itself.
The lightweight division is stacked with potential match ups for Jury, Ross Pearson would be a great match up, though Pearson has already ruled this fight out unless it's for the title. Bobby Green, who's without an opponent after seeing Donald Cerrone matched up with Eddie Alvarez.
The fight I'd like to see next for Jury is Edson Barboza. Barboza is ranked two places below Jury, but coming off an impressive win over Evan Dunham.
