Do you expect the Cain Velasquez-Bigfoot Silva rematch to go any differently than their first fight? Or will Velasquez make quick work of the challenger for his first successful Heavyweight Title defense?
DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK COLUMNIST
I can't see how this fight doesn't end up finishing in exactly the same way as the first one did. Velasquez was so dominating and Silva didn't stand a chance - taking a brutal beating in the process. Silva went on to beat Alistair Overeem, but that was more to do with the Dutchman's lack of respect, rather than Silva's overall performance.
Velasquez lit up Junior dos Santos for 25 minutes and JDS is a million times better than Bigfoot. If Silva lasts longer than 10 minutes i'll be extremely impressed. I confidently predict that Velasquez ends this fight by TKO in the very first round. Saying that, I made the same prediction in favor of Overeem, so what do I know!
RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Well, Silva might not need a zillion blood transfusions after this one, but other than that, what has changed between now and then that would make you believe that Silva can compete with Velasquez now when he couldn't do so before? Cain has won the Championship since then. Silva got beaten up by an arrogant and out of shape Alistair Overeem before Overeem's attitude caught up with him. Cain wins this fight blindfolded with his legs tied together.
FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
I fully expect Cain to beat Bigfoot as easily as he did the first time they fought. I really can't give Bigfoot much of a chance here. It's always nice to see a big upset, but I think Cain is too focused on winning to allow that to happen. If Bigfoot were able to pull it off, though, that would be a huge upset and it would really shake up the division. I can't see it happening, but it'd be cool because it would create chaos. I love chaos.
BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
I think unless God intervenes on Bigfoot's behalf we see the same thing happen. Silva has a chin, that happens to be massive and I expect Cain to go right after it. Cain by KO in round one unless the craziest ending ever takes place, which Silva has caused before.
ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
This fight will not be any different than the first time they fought. Bigfoot has made steady improvement in his last few fights, but nevertheless, he is no match for Velasquez. Cain's wrestling is too good, as is his striking, and he'll win this rematch in the same fashion as the first fight.
C.J. TUTTLE, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Yes and I don't think it has much to do with Silva.
He got beat so incredibly bad last time, and was cut so deep that I think it will be hard to duplicate the image the first fight left.
Silva is obviously hungry, and surprised just about everyone aside from his parents versus Overeem, but I think his luck runs out against Cain.
Cain via stoppage round three.
CAMERON LYMAN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
I see this fight playing out differently but with the same end result. Velasquez will eventually put the big man on his back but might not finish him until the second or third. I didn't think Velasquez would stand with Lesnar or Dos Santos either times, and I might be wrong again but I see this one taking place on the mat.
ANWAR PEREZ, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
If Velasquez shows up the way he did against Dos Santos last year, then yes, he will make quick work against Bigfoot. Even if he's the way he was against Bigfoot in his first fight, Velasquez is going to come out victorious, and could set up a huge rubber match against JDS if he wins his fight as well.
