Predict the outcome of the Urijah Faber-Scott Jorgensen bout at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale - who wins, and how?
RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Wait. Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen are fighting? When did this s*** happen? Hold on...
MATT PELKEY, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
This one is easy. Just ask yourself these two questions: is Scott Jorgensen an elite fighter? And: does Urijah Faber lose to non-elite fighters? The answer to both is a plain "no". Jorgensen is one of my favorite fighters to watch...against inferior opposition. Faber is no such thing. He's a rich man's Jorgensen; better standing, better wrestling, better submissions. Scotty's as tough as they come, so a finish isn't a given, but I didn't think there was any way Faber finished Mizugaki, Bowles, or Menjivar either. I've learned to stop doubting the "California Kid". He polishes off Jorgensen in the second round with a choke, and looks good doin it.
FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
I think Faber takes this fight by 2nd round submission. I like Jorgensen and kudos to both guys for stepping up for this fight, but Faber is so good in so many areas that it's going to be tough sledding for Jorgensen here.
ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Faber all the way. He is a much more well rounded fighter who should not have too much trouble with Jorgensen in this fight. Jorgensen is a good fighter who is pretty durable, but has not beat many fighters on the same level as Faber. Faber should win this by second round submission.
TONY BECERRA, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Faber will win and he will win via unanimous decision.
BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
This is a tough one for me, I really like Scott Jorgensen, he's an approachable guy who likes to engage people he doesn't know all too well, and Urijah Faber's butt chin drives me bat s*** crazy. Faber is the better rounded and skilled fighter, but Jorgensen is a never say die kind of fighter who will hang in and take a beating if it gives him a final chance to land a shot or two. I think we have an upset in the making with Scott's heart and ability to take a punch (aside from McDonald). This is going to be a fun fight, but I still pick Cole Miller and Bart Palaszewski to steal the show.
