Yushin Okami snapped a two-fight losing streak on Saturday night, moving past late replacement Buddy Roberts by TKO at UFC 150.
Roberts began the proceedings with a solid effort, connecting on some good exchanges in the opening frame before Okami was able to bring the fight to the ground late. The first round ended with Okami landing punches from Roberts' back, but he was able to survive that onslaught to move on to round two.
However, the fight would continue in similar fashion, as Okami scored another takedown early, leaving the outcome all but set in stone from there. He passed to the mount, then Roberts gave up his back, and could only cover up as Okami threw punch after punch after punch. They weren't doing a ton of damage, but with Roberts simply covering his head, referee Herb Dean was forced to stop the fight.
The win was Okami's first since defeating Nate Marquardt in November of 2010, while Roberts suffered his first loss since July of 2009.
