Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres did his best to erase the memory of his featherweight showings in the UFC on Saturday night, putting forth a fantastic effort to defeat Cole Escovedo by decision on the preliminary card of UFC on Fox 1.
Caceres showcased his flashy striking throughout, keeping Escovedo backing up and on defense, and then in the third round put forth a great display on the ground as well.
While Escovedo was expected to have the edge in the grappling department, Caceres came closest to finishing the fight, and Escovedo could simply not get going during the fight. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Caceres, while Escovedo has now lost five of his last six.
