MMA Torch is starting a brand new 'Champion of Champions World Cup' competition to in conjunction with the ongoing Confidence Pick games we run for UFC events only. A whopping 64 places are up for grabs, but qualifying can only be achieved by entering the MMATorch Confidence and Betting competition for UFC 160.
Qualifying can be achieved as follows:
-- This competition is open to anyone and everyone.
-- The MMA Torch Confidence Picks and Betting Champion(s) after UFC 160 will earn automatic entry.
-- The other 62 or 63 places will go to the highest scoring performers in the UFC 160 Confidence Picks pool (including UFC 160 title challengers).
How the event works:
-- 64 players will enter into a straight knockout tournament starting at UFC 161.
-- If less than 64 players enter - byes will be added to the first tournament draw.
-- If you win a round, you progress to the next one - much like NBA/NHL Play Offs or, Football's Champions League.
-- Format will include Round of 64, Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and a Final.
-- Only PPV numbered events will be used for each round (UFC 161, UFC 162, UFC 163, UFC 164, UFC 165, UFC 166).
-- Entries used will be the same as the standard MMA Torch Confidence and Betting game (no additional picks are needed from players entering).
-- Each draw will be chosen at random using the good old 'names in a hat' format.
-- No prize is up for grabs, except for being crowned 'Champion of all Champions', which sounds good to me!
Game rules and the picks format is identical to the one currently used for the standard game. I'll simply extract your entry and subsequent results to formulate them into this 64 player knock-out competition.
I'll also post separate pre-card (match-ups) and post-card (results) articles to coincide with each PPV event. To enter this competition, please submit your entry after reading the following link, which contains details on how to enter: DIRECT LINK TO UFC 160 CONTESTS
