"I got asked that question quite a bit before: 'How do you think you would do in the UFC?' My answer was always, 'There's only one way to find out.' You can always talk about it, but why talk about it? There's not a whole lot of point in talking about it. Let's find out. Thankfully, now we get a chance to find out... It's time to face the best Anthony Pettis [at WEC 53], and hopefully he brings the best out of me, and we can throw down and have a good old time... I've been to the big show before. I've been in a couple of world title fights before. It's not only his first time fighting for a title, first time fighting five rounds, first time as a main event, but he's fighting for the No. 1 contender spot in the UFC, as well. All that stuff will add up to him being pretty jittery. As long as I stay calm and relaxed, I should be fine."
-WEC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson talks to MMAJunkie.com about getting a chance to finally answer the question of how he'd fare against the UFC's lightweight division and having the experience edge over challenger Anthony Pettis at WEC 53 in December.
Penick's Analysis: That is one major talking point for the fight between Henderson vs. Pettis, the experience edge in this big spot. There is a lot on the line in this fight, and Henderson has seen the bright lights of the main event before. He's also gone five rounds and won. With a shot at the UFC Lightweight Championship also coming to the victor, and that's a lot to handle for a young kid in his first main event slot. If he can get past all of that and still pull off the upset, it will be even more impressive, but Henderson will surely be the heavy favorite heading into their December 16 bout.
