WEC NEWS: "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung vs. George Roop headed to WEC 51 in September

Chan Sung Jung, affectionately known as "The Korean Zombie," made a huge splash into the WEC this April, losing a split decision to Leonard Garcia in an electrifying battle on the Aldo vs. Faber preliminary card.

Now, according to a report from MMAWeekly.com, Jung is set for his return to the WEC against George Roop at WEC 51 this September.

Roop himself fought Garcia in his most recent bout, going to a draw. The former Ultimate Fighter competitor went 1-2 in the Octagon. He then picked up a win outside of the UFC and entered the WEC's featherweight ranks. He picked up the draw after losing to Eddie Wineland in his WEC debut.

Jung's loss to Garcia was only the second of his career, and his record stands at 10-2 overall.

WEC 51 is expected to take place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. on September 30.

Penick's Analysis: This is a good, competitive match up, and should get a spot on the main card. Jung, in the eyes of many observers, was robbed by the decision in the fight with Garcia, and should be 11-1 now. Regardless, he's an extremely exciting fighter, and coming off that fight people are going to continue to want to see him fight. Hopefully this bout with Roop can provide some fireworks as well.
