At UFC 85, we crowned two new champions. Scott "The Fountain of Youth" (I'm determined to make that nickname stick) Hart unseated Brian Fuller to win the Prediction Title. Making a negative out of a positive, Fuller bested "Ruthless" Micky Wan and was crowned the new Betting Champ.

At UFC 86, both of our champions will put their newly minted belts on the line. Scott Hart will take on new #1 contender Rich Boles in a highly anticipated match-up, and Fuller will wage war with newcomer Brian Murphy. Well those are the MMATorch match-ups. Let's see what our friends at the UFC have planned for us Saturday.

PREDICTION CONTEST:

I'm pretty sure everyone knows how this works by now, but just in case...Basically you pick the winners of each fight, including method (e.g. KO, submission, decision) and round. The winner is the one who picks the most fights correctly. Ties will be broken by who had the most number of rounds and methods correctly predicted. In case anyone is wondering, only rounds and methods in fights where you predicted the correct winner count. So here's the line-up. Good luck to all!

Justin McCully (+450) vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (-580)

Cole Miller (-130) vs. Jorge Gurgel (+110)

Dennis Siver (+225) vs. Melvin Guillard (-250)

Justin Buchholz (+390) vs. Corey Hill (-430)

Gleison Tibau (+175) vs. Joe Stevenson (-210)

Patrick Cote (+105) vs. Ricardo Almeida (-125)

Marcus Aurelio (+265) vs. Tyson Griffin (-355)

Chris Lytle (+260) vs. Josh Koscheck (-320)

Forrest Griffin (+225) vs. Quinton Jackson (-265)

BETTING CONTEST:

As you can see, there's a number attached to each fighter. That number represents how much money you can make off each fighter. The way it works is, if a fighter has a positive number he's an underdog. The positive number means if you were to bet $100 dollars on him, you would make the amount of the positive number. For example, if you were to bet $100 on Aurelio and he won, you would make back the hundred you bet, plus $265, for a total payout of $365.

If the fighter has a negative number, that number represents how much you would have to bet to make $100 on the fighter. For example, if you bet $355 on Griffin (Tyson that is) and he won, you'd make back the $355, plus a $100 profit, for a total payout of $455.

Each contestant has $1000 in theoretical money. You can bet it on as many fighters as you'd like, but you have to bet on at least three. And starting with this contest, we're going back to the old rules. The most you can bet on a single fighter is $500, and bets have to be in multiples of $100.

Just a note to those who are wondering; I used FiveDimes for all the lines except the Hill/Bucholz and Siver/Guillard fights, which I used MMAPlayground for because I couldn't find lines for those fights on any other betting sites.

Well there you have it folks. The contests are back in all their glory. You can either post your picks on the message boards, or email them to me at matt6buckeye@hotmail.com if you don't want anyone to know your picks. I'll be back tomorrow with a full preview of the show, including my predictions and bets. Once again, good luck to everyone, for let's have some fun around here for goodness sake!
