Before tonight's UFC 156 pay-per-view card gets under way, four fights will air live on FX beginning at 8PM ET. We'll have live round by round coverage of those bouts right here, along with quick results of the night's Facebook preliminary fights. FACEBOOK PRELIM QUICK RESULTS:

FIGHT ONE (BANTAMWEIGHT): EDWIN FIGUEROA VS. FRANCISCO RIVERA
WINNER: Francisco Rivera by TKO at 4:20 of round 2

FIGHT TWO (CATCHWEIGHT 139.5 LBS): CHICO CAMUS VS. DUSTIN KIMURA
WINNER: Dustin Kimura by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:50 of round 3.


UFC 156 FX PRELIMS:

FIGHT ONE: YVES EDWARDS VS. ISAAC VALLIE-FLAGG (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Vallie-Flagg comes out aggressively, landing a nice body kick. Edwards comes forward and lands a nice left head kick. Vallie-Flagg with a front kick to the body. And a nice right hand and a knee as well. Vallie-Flagg grabs the clinch in the middle and lands a few left knees. Edwards lands a right head kick as they disengage. Edwards with a leg kick that trips Vallie-Flagg beiefly. Big straight right hand by Vallie-Flagg. He's outstriking Edwards so far. Edwards grabs a Thai clinch in the middle and lands a couple of shots, but nothing of significance. Vallie-Flagg with a nice uppercut. He's landed a fee of those not. Edwards with a left body kick. Vallie-Flagg caught it, but Edwards landed a flying knee. Vallie-Flagg continues to hold the leg and gets Edwards into the cage. Vallie-Flagg gives up the leg, nothing comes of the cage game, and they separate. lands a couple of overhand punches near the end of the round. That was fun. 10-9 Vallie-Flagg Good round.

ROUND TWO: Failed to mention, but Yves Lavigne is the referee for this fight. Vallie-Flagg coming out forward, firing lefts and rights. Vallie-Flagg catches Edwards' left leg and backs Edwards into the cage. Grueling battle for position here. Vallie-Flagg disengages. Back to the middle. Vallie-Flagg comes forward yet again. Vallie-Flagg grabs the clinch, but eats a knee to the body. Vallie-Flagg lands a big uppercut from the clinch and then lets it go. Vallie-Flagg eats a jab as Vallie-Flagg came in with a front kick. Nice right hand by Vallie-Flagg. Vallie-Flagg pushes Edwards back into the cage, but Edwards turns him and is working a single leg now. He got him down with a nice leg trip. Edwards on top, in a wide open guard. Chest-to-chest. Edwards gets to side-control, two minutes left. Edwards gets to mount with 90 seconds left. Vallie-Flagg gives up his back. Edwards rolls to his back, sitting against the fence. He has the hooks in, and not it's a battle of wrist control. Edwards has one arm across the jaw, 10 seconds left. No choke coming, but he'll get the round. 10-9 Edwards. 19-19

ROUND THREE: Vallie-Flagg continues to move forward, per the advice of coach Mike Winkeljohn. Vallie-Flagg has started to go to throwing the short elbows this round. Nice knee to the body by Edwards; he caught Vallie-Flagg coming forward. Vallie-Flagg pushes Edwards into the cage, forehead to forehead. Edwards dances out of there and gets back to the middle. Edwards lands a nice right uppercut left hook. Vallie-Flagg with an overhand right and a front kick to the body. Vallie-Flagg lands a big knee as Edwards ducked for a possible takedown. Vallie-Flagg stuffs a sloppy takedown attempt form Edwards. Edwards starting to get really tired. Nice counter uppercut by Edwards. Vallie-Flagg comes over the top with an overhard left. He's taking control of this fight, and Edwards likely needs a finish to win this round. grueling work against the cage, which induces Lavigne to tell them to work. The last ten seconds sees both fighters open it up. Good fight. 10-9 Vallie-Flagg, and 29-28 Vallie-Flagg as well

WINNER: Isaac Vallie-Flagg by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

STAR RATING AND FINAL THOUGHTS: (**) The right guy won. Vallie-Flagg was much more aggressive, and was stronger at the end. First round was the swing round.


FIGHT TWO: JACOB VOLKMANN VS. BOBBY GREEN (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Kim Winslow is the referee for this fight. Green trying to work the kicks early. Lands one nice leg kick, but Volkmann gets a fantastic takedown 20 seconds later. Volkmann straight to side-control, but Green gets his knee in there to get half-guard. Volkmann's looking for some form of choke from the top. Green's legs are open, just begging to be mounted. Green tries to hip escape, but Volkmann stays in position. Volkmann to his feet, holding on to both of Green's legs, stacking him up against the fence. Volkmann trying to land right hands to the head from this position. Green pushes Volkmann off, but Volkmann gets back on top immediately and gets his back. Volkmann locks in a body triangle, and he's got 90 seconds to get the rear-naked choke. Volkmann's squeezing with the body triangle. Volkmann's softening him up with left hands, but the clock is his enemy,. As are Democrats. 10-9 Volkmann

ROUND TWO: Volkmann gets the takedown 8 seconds in, off of a Green body kick. Green gets back up right away, and Volkmann presses him into the cage. Green reverses position, no damage, and they disengage. Volkmann shoots and gets stuffed, winding up on his back. Green dives into his full closed guard. Nice elbow fromt he top by Green. And another. Green with a shot to the gut. Volkmann's guard opens up, and Volkmann gets to half-guard. Short elbows from Green as Volkmann tries to wiggle out to his feet. Green continues to work the elbows and right hands to the ribs. Green has landed 25 strikes to zero in the second, per UFC stats. Move short elbows fro Green. Winslow stands them up. Worst standup I've ever seen. That was freaking awful. 35 strikes in 2 minutes on the ground, but this moron doesn't think that's work? Green lands a head kick, but Volkmann shoots and gets his back. Full body lock standing for Volkmann. Volkmann wrestles him down with one full minute left. Volkmann's get the figure four again, looking for the rear naked choke again. I still can't get over what an unbelievably bad standup that was. No offense from Volkmann as the round ends. Screw you, Kim Winslow. 10-9 Green. 19-19

ROUND THREE: Volkmann shoots from a mile out, gets stuffed, and eats a knee on the way out. Green eats a kick to the crotch, and Winslow stops the fight. 1 minute later, we're back. Green lands a high inside thigh kick. Looked like a ball kick, but apparently not. Green with a higher body kick that landed flush. Volkmann shoots gets stuffed. Green with a body lock and a takedown. Green on top, side-control. Volkmann spinning to get his feet on the cage, so Green moves to half-guard to keep more weight on Volkmann. Volkmann esacpes, and back to standing. Volkmann with a lazy kick and a huge breath. Volkmann with a lazy shot, stuffed, back to standing.Volkmann catches a body kick, gets the takedown, and Green reverses to top position. Back to standing grappling quickly, and Volkmann is on his back. Volkmann drags him back down, and has Green's back still. Green doesn't have any hooks in, just a body lock. Green spins out, and has full mount with 1:30 remaining. Green is raining down bombs from the mount, and Volkmann was fortunate the fight wasn't stopped before he could pull Green down to him. Green slamming Volkmann down chest to chest. Volkmann gives up his back and Bobby Green just got a rear naked choke. Submission of the night, for sure! That was just. Wow.

WINNER: Bobby Green by submission (rear naked choke) at 4:35 of round 3.

STAR RATING AND FINAL THOUGHTS: (***-) That was a hell of a performance by Green. Volkmann Volkmannized him in the first, and it seemed inevitable that he's finish Green in the second. But Green got top position for the entire second round, which gave him the confidence he needed in the third. That was an absolutely startling result for Volkmann.


FIGHT THREE: TYRON WOODLEY VS. JAY HIERON (WELTERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Woodley explodes with a sprinting right hand that floors Hieron. 10 seconds of ground and pound, and it's over. BEAST MODE!

WINNER: Tyron Woodley by murder at 0:36 of round 1.

STAR RATING AND FINAL THOUGHTS: (***+) It was a fake superman jab right hook that did it. That was such an unusual KO because Woodley literally sprinted in. UFC Welterweights just got a little uncomfortable.


FIGHT FOUR: GLEISON TIBAU VS. EVAN DUNHAM (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Yves Lavigne is the referee. Lots of swing and miss action in the first minute. Tibau with a takedown, Dunham scrambles to his feet, but Tibau has a guillotine. Tibau pulls him down and lands on top. The guillotine is gone, but Tibau has half-guard. Dunham to a seated position, but Tibau is heavy on him. Dunham on his knees, Tibau has a front facelock. Dunham to his feet and has Tibau against the cage. Knee to the body by Dunham. They disengage with two minutes left. Nice right hook by dunham. Tibau backed off. Tibau's taking depe breaths here as Dunham shoots. Tibau presses Dunham into the fence. Dunham has a body lock, and uses it to turn Tibau into the wall. The round ends. 10-9 Tibau Could go either way.

ROUND TWO: Dunahm working the jab early and often to begin round 2. Tibau has slowed down tremendously from the pace he kept in the first round. Tibau lands a big left hand. Dunham shoots and gets a brief takedown. Tibau back to his feet fast, but is being pressed into the fence. Dunham with a knee to the midsection. Tibau pushes Dunham off and we're back to the middle. Another jab from Dunham. Tibau throwing bombs, but they're missing by an inch each time. Head movement, boys and girls. Tibau is really loading up on his strikes, which helps explaining his gas. Dunham shoots and gets stuffed. Jab from Dunham. Another. Dunham backs off. dunham switches stances and labs another jab. Nice stutter-step jab by Dunham. Nice upeprcut by Dunham. both guys swinging hard as the round ends. 10-9 Dunham. 19-19

ROUND THREE: Tibau shoots and gets a takedown. Dunahm back up, and Tibau pulls guard to get him down. Tibau had a guillotine there, but nothing came of it. Dunham puses away, and we're back to the middle. Dunham lands a nice left hook. Dunham with anohter jab. Dunham ducks under and hsoots a double, but gets stuffed. He's oh for four on takedowns. Now oh for five, as he gets stuffed again. Tibau is still a wall, even if he's tired. Tibau shoots and presses Dunham into the cage. Dunahm gets an underhook and turns Tibau, then backs off. 2:30 left. Thankfully. Tibau eats a 1-2 to the jaw. Dunham gets stuffed again going for another takedown. Dunham presses tibau into the cage, and lands a couple of nice knees. As Dunham backs off, he lands a couple of jabs while walking backwards. And another really stiff jab by Dunham. And another. And another. Tibau missing badly with wild hooks. Tibau stuffs another Dunham takedown attempt, and lands a knee of his own. This is very repetitive. Jab, missed hook, stuffed takedown. Rinse and repeat. Dunham lands a big knee. And another. And one more as the fight ends. 10-9 Dunham. 29-28 Dunham Could be 30-27.

WINNER: Evan Dunham by spilit decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

STAR RATING AND FINAL THOUGHTS: (**-) Meh. I'd say more, but the PPV has begun and AT&T is screwing it up yet again. Off to tech support.
