With last night's final episode revealing the finalists for this season's welterweight tournament on The Ultimate Fighter, several more bouts featuring fighters from this cast are now being added to the event.
Fighting in the finals of this season are Team Lesnar's Tony Ferguson and Team Dos Santos' Ramsey Nejim. Each fighter picked up TKO finishes in their semifinal bouts over Chuck O'Neil and Chris Cope, respectively.
Speaking of Cope and O'Neil, MMAJunkie.com reports that the two Team Lesnar fighters will meet on the Spike TV main card of the event, which takes place this Saturday night from the Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Additionally, the preliminary card will get a couple of fights added to it as well, as Team Lesnar's fourth pick in Clay Harvison will meet Team Dos Santos' Justin Edwards, while Team Dos Santos' Shamar Bailey and Ryan McGillivray square off as well.
Ferguson brings a 10-2 professional record into the cage with nine stoppage wins. He made it to the finals with wins over Edwards, McGillivray and O'Neil.
4-1 Ramsey Nejim made it to the finals with surprise wins over Charlie Rader and Clay Harvison before defeating Cope. He's won three straight professional fights heading into the Finale event.
Penick's Analysis: Ferguson was the most promising of all the fighters during the season, showcasing the only real semi-polished striking skills in the house and a knack for laying on pressure and hurting guys. If he's continued on that path he should be able to pick up the win and this season's Ultimate Fighter title. Nejim has surprised, however, with his wins on the show, and could certainly pull off the upset. The other matchups are alright, but none of the guys on this season really stood out, and that could lead to a number of them being out of the UFC a lot sooner than later.
