Ultimate Fighter season 11 runner-up Kris McCray is out of the UFC after losing all three of his fights inside the Octagon, according to a report from MMAWeekly.com.

McCray won the first ever wildcard round fight on The Ultimate Fighter, earning a spot in the bout after a loss to Josh Bryant by decision. His run to the finals saw him compete in a record amount of fights during the six weeks of taping for the show, but he was submitted by Court McGee in the finals last June.

He was then submitted by Carlos Eduardo Rocha in Germany in November, and his split decision loss to John Hathaway at UFC Fight Night 24 has led to this release.

"After a fight like that it kind of sucks, but what can you do... never let it get in the hands of the judges," McCray said. "It was a great fight and not to take anything away from [John] Hathaway, but I wish I would have got that last fight."

“I know I can compete at that level, I had a really good fight and a tough guy at that level. So just get back, keep fighting, and we’ll see 3, 4, 5 or 6 fights, who knows, definitely want to get back on the bike."

Penick's Analysis: Losing three straight in the UFC typically leads to a fighter's release, and that goes especially for a fighter that loses all three of their fights inside the Octagon. This isn't a surprising release because of that, though with his ties to The Ultimate Fighter he'll be more likely to get a call back than some once he wins a few fights outside of the organization.
