This summer's fight cards for the UFC continue to fill up with bouts in the lightweight division, as MMAJunkie.com reports that Sam Stout and Yves Edwards will square off at UFC 131 in June.
Stout has won three of his last four fights to bring his record in the UFC to an even 5-5. In his last bout, he defeated Paul Taylor by decision at UFC 121 last October.
Edwards returned to the UFC in 2010 after a four year hiatus, earning wins over John Gunderson and Yves Edwards in consecutive fights. The longtime veteran has won six of his last seven fights.
UFC 131 takes place from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, headlined by a heavyweight bout between Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos.
Penick's Analysis: This is another solid fight for the UFC, and though both have fought numerous times inside the Octagon, any loss in the Octagon could lead to a release in this lightweight division at this point. It's so jam packed with talented and roster-worthy fighters that it's just going to take one bad performance for the UFC to send someone on their way. This will be a good fight, though, and a solid addition to the preliminary card of this event.
