"The Immortal" still has some life in the UFC.
Matt Brown is getting one more shot at getting a win in the Octagon, as Heavy.com reports that he'll meet Rich Attonito at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.
Brown began his UFC career during the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter. He got off to a great start in the welterweight division with a 4-1 mark, the sole loss being a split decision that Brown arguably deserved to win against Dong Hyun Kim. Unfortunately for him, however, he dropped three consecutive fights by submission, most recently losing to Brian Foster at UFC 123 in November.
Attonito, who competed on the 11th season of The Ultimate Fighter, has posted a 2-1 mark inside the Octagon. After finishing Jamie Yager at the TUF 11 Finale and earning a decision win over Rafael Natal, Attonito was defeated by Dave Branch at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale in December.
The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale airs live on Spike TV on June 4, headlined by a lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida.
Penick's Analysis: Brown has been a highly enjoyable fighter to watch, and because of that he's getting a chance to continue on in the organization despite the three fight losing streak. Attonito has won a couple of fights, but he may also be fighting for his life in the organization if the UFC doesn't like his performance should he lose. It's a big fight for both, but it will come on the preliminary card of the event.
