The UFC's return to Germany this November with UFC 122 continues to fill out with the addition of a welterweight bout between Brit Nick "Slick" Osipczak and Duane "Bang" Ludwig.
News of the bout was first reported by MMAWeekly.com, and the bout will likely come to the night's unaired preliminary card.
Both Osipczak and Ludwig have lost two straight fights in the UFC, and will likely be fighting to keep their roster spot in the promotion.
Osipczak lost his most recent fight by decision to Greg Soto at UFC 118 last month. The semifinalist on the Ultimate Fighter's ninth season has gone 2-2 in four appearances in the UFC.
Ludwig made a return to the Octagon in January of this year for the first time in four years, but he's dropped both fights he's had in the UFC this year. The most recent loss, at UFC on Versus 1 in March, ended when he suffered a brutal ankle injury in the first minute of his fight with Darren Elkins.
UFC 122 has now been made official, and will take place from the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The event airs via tape delay in the U.S. on Spike TV, and is headlined by a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Yushin Okami.
Penick's Analysis: This is another solid fight stylistically for this card, although it's not likely to make the broadcast without a spectacular finish one way or the other. The UFC often puts these types of fights together, and the lose is almost assuredly on his way out the door after this event.
