The next iteration of the UFC Primetime series is officially going to feature Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez, as they head into their bout at UFC 121 in October. The first episode will debut on Spike TV on Wednesday, October 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The three part in-depth series will go behind the scenes into the training camps of both fighters to hype up their meeting for the UFC Heavyweight Championship bout. That fight comes to the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on October 23 on pay-per-view.
The always private Lesnar will let the cameras in for this special, something he apparently declined to do heading into his UFC 116 bout with Shane Carwin in July. His private camp in Minnesota will be highlighted, as will Velasquez's work with the American Kickboxing Academy.
The last Primetime series featured Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans as they rebuilt the heat from their time as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter's 10th season. The two prior incarnations of the show featured UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre as he prepared for bouts with B.J. Penn and Dan Hardy.
Penick's Analysis: This is going to help boost this event into being quite possibly the biggest of the year. It was already going to come close to that if not surpass it on the merits of this fight alone, but with a really good fight card and three half hour specials to hype this massive main event, the UFC will be able to sell Cain Velasquez much better and give an inside look into Lesnar's camp, really for the first time. We've gotten glimpses from short videos, but this will be even more and it will be much more entertaining.

The headlining bout between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans averaged 6.1 million viewers, meaning the peak number for the event will still come in somewhat higher than that. The opening bout between Demian Maia and Chris Weidman was seen by an average of four million viewers...
I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
