The following are key excerpts from Dana White at the UFC 118 post-fight press conference:
• "Thank you so much Boston, from the media to the people you were great. You all exceeded my expectations. I love this city, I love the people, and media has been overwhelming. We have got tons of media attention. I am just completely honored with everything that has gone on and our results."
• "Submission of the night was Joe Lauzon and he won in amazing fashion. Nate Diaz and Marcus Davis won fight of the night; they put on an absolute war. They were both throwing bombs the whole fight and even with Davis having bad cuts he kept on pushing through the fight, so they both get the bonus tonight."
• "UFC is moving to be in a billion homes soon. We just hired a new guy by the name of Mark Fischer to help UFC Asia take off."
• "Frankie Edgar looked like a real mixed martial artist; his combos were really crisp and his takedowns were amazing. He was picking B.J. apart round by round. Even when B.J. had Edgar down Edgar was still able to get right back up. Edgar is the real deal. Those first couple times when Edgar took him down I was shocked, nobody has done that to B.J. He beat him on his feet and on the ground."
• "James Toney lasted longer than I thought he would, I was not trying to sell this fight as the greatest fight ever, but I knew that it would end this way. I was not trying to pick a fight with boxing, Toney picked a fight with our guys and he got a fight tonight. I have a lot of respect for Toney in boxing, but no one can come in here with one discipline and win fights. If Toney would have won, I was really worried that I would have to deal with him for another year. But 99 times out of 100 a MMA guy will beat a boxer, maybe even 100 out of 100."
• "It sucks that the ref did not stop the Davis vs. Diaz fight earlier, the choke was really held in for a longtime when you could tell that Davis was out."
• "I love Kenny Florian, but he chokes in the big fights. Kenny had three rounds to let his hands go and make something happen and he just could not do it. Maynard fought his fight and dominated him tonight."
• "Now we get to see Maynard and Edgar rematch each other and fight for the belt. People are going to say that this fight will be hard to sell but I think otherwise. Edgar just came out and dominated B.J. like we have never seen before, what does this guy have to do to get respect? Maynard just came out and beat Kenny in a three round fight. They are our number one and two guys right now and the fight will sell.
• "I really have no idea where B.J. is going to go after this. We will have to take some time and see where he can go from here.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...
Diaz has a granite chin, possesses perhaps the best recovery in the sport, his pace and conditioning are second to none and he sets records with the volume of his punches almost every time he steps into the cage. Nick Diaz is simply designed to fight the way he fights, and not many other fighters are...
"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
