"My intention is to keep the fight standing up, because I like the striking and want to use my boxing, which is where I consider myself better and it's where I want to try to surprise my opponent. But if the fight goes to the floor, I'm ready too, because I'm training a lot of Jiu-Jitsu and I'm sure I can still surprise him on the floor as well."
-Junior Dos Santos talks to Tatame.com (transcribed by Fighter's Only) about his plans for his UFC 117 bout against Roy Nelson.
Penick's Analysis: This is a really interesting fight, because both fighters have shown some very good striking skills and are high level grapplers as well. While Dos Santos hasn't had to prove his ground skills in the cage, the fact that he works with the Nogueira brothers on a consistent basis means he should be well prepared should the fight get to the ground. Both fighters can legitimately win this fight, and the winner will get a shot at the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez.
