The UFC is hitting the state of California twice this August, and now they're looking to bring a third event to the state this October.
According to a report from MMAJunkie.com, the UFC is planning on bringing UFC 121 to the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on October 23.
After a two year hiatus from the state before UFC 104 last October in Los Angeles, this would be the third trip in 12 weeks.
The last event to emanate from the Honda Center was UFC 76, which featured Chuck Liddell against Keith Jardine in the main event, as well as Forrest Griffin's upset win over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
The event would come one week after the free UFC 120 event on Spike TV from London, England, allowing for a final push by the organization on the network heading into the pay-per-view card.
Penick's Analysis: With Brock Lesnar not able to return in September for UFC 119, this would be a perfect spot for his bout with Cain Velasquez. With the final push a week before the pay-per-view on Spike with the 120 event, that could bring this fight an even bigger audience than it's already guaranteed to garner. It would also make for a huge headliner after a couple of let down main events in a row in September and October. I hope they can get this fight together quick enough for this event, otherwise we'll be waiting until late November or even December for Lesnar's return.
