"Brock is every coach’s dream. He doesn’t complain, he always pays attention to what we’re teaching and he’s a born athlete. He has abnormal strength and speed. The sky’s the limit with him, and he’ll continue to evolve for a long time. He’s a grappler, so he loves training on the ground, likes training as a whole a lot. And one thing you haven’t seen yet is how he has an aggressive guard. He’ll surprise a lot of people... [Cain] Velasquez is really tough, quick and technical. It will be a really tough, these days there are no easy opponents. The guy beat Minotauro, there are no better credentials than that. It will be a great bout, everyone will see. But I’ll bet my job on Brock!"
-Brock Lesnar's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu trainer Rodrigo Comprido talks to GracieMag.com about Lesnar as a student and Lesnar's next opponent, Cain Velasquez.
Penick's Analysis: Comprido's been a great trainer for Lesnar, and the things he's worked on with Brock have clearly paid off in the cage. The one armed full nelson Lesnar used on Frank Mir in the second fight - all Comprido. The arm triangle choke he used to submit Shane Carwin - all Comprido. If Cain Velasquez manages to put Brock on his back I'd be very interested to see this "aggressive guard" Comprido has hinted at here. Comprido will continue to do wonders for the progression of Brock Lesnar the mixed martial artist, and I'm very intrigued to see what he's got in store for this next fight.
