A heavyweight bout between Cheick Kongo and Travis Browne is in the works for UFC 120 in London, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
Kongo has been cleared to begin training again after a back injury forced him out of a rumored bout with Roy Nelson on tomorrow's UFC 116 card. Kongo's last bout came in March, where he defeated Paul Buentello at UFC on Versus in March.
Browne made a successful UFC debut last month, defeating James McSweeney at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale, earning his seventh career first round stoppage.
UFC 120 is expected to take place at the O2 Arena in London, England on October 16, airing in the U.S. via tape delay. The card will also feature a welterweight bout between Dan Hardy and Carlos Condit.
Penick's Analysis: That's a good heavyweight match up. Kongo's technically getting a step down in opponent, but he's simply a gatekeeper in the heavyweight division right now. Browne looked very good against McSweeney, but Kongo is a definite step up in competition. This should be a hard hitting fight, and a good one for the London crowd.
