The UFC has officially announced their first foray into Boston, Mass., as UFC 118 has been made official for August 28 at the TD Garden.

Headlined by a UFC Lightweight Title rematch between Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn, the organization also announced three of the other fights coming to the main card with Randy Couture against multi time world champion boxer James Toney in the co-main event, as well as a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares and a lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard.

"Without a doubt, August 28th will be one of the highlights of my career, I’m thrilled to bring the UFC to Boston for the first time in our history,” said UFC President Dana White in today's announcement. “Boston is one of the world’s greatest fight towns, fans only expect the best, and we are bringing it with the rematch between BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar, and the Octagon-debut of boxing legend James Toney vs. one of the greatest UFC heavyweights of all-time, Randy Couture."

UFC Fight Club members will get the first crack at tickets to the event next Wednesday, June 23, beginning at 10 AM ET. Newsletter subscribers get their chance on Thursday, while tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 25. Tickets are priced from $600 down to $75.

Penick's Analysis: This is going to be a great event and fans in the Massachusetts area should be extremely amped up for the second of two awesome UFC cards coming in August. The two lightweight fights alone would make for a purchasable event, but the addition of the Marquardt-Palhares bout and the spectacle that will be Couture-Toney and this is bordering on a "can't miss" fight card.
