Court McGee and Kris McCray both received a second chance during this season of The Ultimate Fighter, and they made it count, winning their semifinal bouts on last night's two-episode conclusion to the pre-taped part of the season.

The two will now face off to become the next "Ultimate Fighter" at next weekend's finale event.

McGee lost a majority decision to Nick Ring in a second round fight, a decision that many of those cageside disagreed with. When Rich Attonito came up injured, UFC President Dana White put McGee into his slot in the quarterfinals. He defeated James Hammortree by submission in that round and did the same to Brad Tavares on last night's episode.

McCray fought more times in six weeks than anyone in the show's history, as he fought five times during his time on the show. After a 15 second KO due to injury in his first bout, McCray lost his in the next round to Josh Bryant by decision. He earned one of the two "wildcard" spots and was put up against Kyacey Uscola to determine the final quarterfinalist.

He submitted Uscola in a bit of an upset, and then earned a decision over Kyle Noke in the quarterfinals to get a rematch with Bryant in the finals. He then made it an even 1-1 with Bryant, earning the decision victory on the final show.

The live card for the Ultimate Fighter Finale is now set for next Saturday, June 19. The event takes place from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will be headlined by former Ultimate Fighter alums Matt Hamill and Keith Jardine in a light heavyweight bout.

Penick's Analysis: Some fans may scoff at the finals considering both fighters had a loss during the show, and this season's winner will not be undefeated in the house, but both of these guys had impressive showings throughout the season, and only lost decisions during the season. In McGee's case, there was a strong argument for him getting a third round against Ring, and he was extremely impressive with his two submission victories to get to the finals. The fight will be a very competitive one, and only time will tell how both fighters fare in the UFC's middleweight division.
