The UFC's first trip to Abu Dhabi will air live on pay-per-view, as expected, and with the time delay in the U.S. the live broadcast will come at 1PM ET on April 10th. As they've done with U.K. pay-per-view events, the replay for the event will run in their normal pay-per-view timeslot at 10PM ET.
The UFC announced the pay-per-view event today, which has been named UFC 112: Invincible. The card features two Title fights with Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort for the Middleweight Championship and B.J. Penn vs. Frankie Edgar for the Lightweight Championship.
The event will also be the first open air event for the UFC, taking place at the Concert Arena in Ferrari World on Yas Island.
Penick's Analysis: This will likely be the UFC's most successful overseas card from a pay-per-view buyrate perspective simply because of the card, as it is the biggest one they've put together as far as a non-US pay-per-view is concerned. It won't be as successful as some of the other events on the docket this spring as the middle of the day live broadcasts don't do as well and people will likely see results for the events before the replay broadcast in the evening, but this is still a big event for the organization.
