It's almost becoming a completely running joke now, but the UFC 108 card has picked up two more replacement fighters for fights shuffled around due to injury.
With Sean Sherk taking a main-card spot to face Jim Miller for the injured Tyson Griffin, UFC newcomer John Gunderson steps in to take on Rafaello Oliveira on the night's preliminary card, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
Another prelim fighter getting a new opponent is Martin Kampmann, as his originally scheduled opponent Rory Markham went down with an injury over the weekend. Kampmann will now face the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy's Jacob Volkmann, who made his UFC debut last month in a losing effort by decision to Paulo Thiago, also according to MMAJunkie.com.
The UFC 108 card now looks like this:
Main Televised Card
-Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva
-Paul Daley vs. Dustin Hazelett
-Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
-Jim Miller vs. Sean Sherk
-Junior Dos Santos vs. Gilbert Yvel
Preliminary Card
-Rafaello Oliveira vs. John Gunderson
-Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller
-Martin Kampmann vs. Jacob Volkmann
-Steve Cantwell vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
-Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz
-Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle
Penick's Analysis: This sure isn't looking like a pay-per-view card, but you've got to hand it to the UFC for continuing to fill holes on a seemingly constant basis for this card. It's getting really ridiculous just how much this one particular card has been ravaged by injuries and illness and just plain bad luck. It will start the UFC's pay-per-view year on a likely low note, but they've just got to roll with what's been hitting them and put on the best show they can. Right now, this is what we've got, and while it might not seem pay-per-view worthy, the matchups on the card should provide more than their fair share of action compared to some others that have been broadcast on pay-per-view over the last few years.

"There's still a large contingent of people, that they just want to see these guys almost die, or the other guy almost die and come back, and sometimes fights are like that. Certainly they are. But sometimes you get technical masterpieces too, and to hate a beautiful, technical fight - you're not really a fight fan...

"There was a lot of poison going on around there and I'm really disappointed because we had a good thing going. It was a good thing and I think people's egos got in the way. Well, not people just Javier, his ego got in the way, and too many cameras in the gym and him trying to build himself up and his brand, his AKA brand...
