Sep 21, 2009 - 4:09:46 PM By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Mirko Cro Cop was slapped with the lengthiest suspension stemming from a loss at UFC 103 in Dallas, TX, last Saturday, as the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Combative Sports suspended the Croatian indefinitely following his verbal submission loss to Junior Dos Santos. Cro Cop will need doctor's clearance before returning to action.
Rich Franklin, Martin Kampmann, Frank Trigg, Hermes Franca, Cole Miller and Steve Lopez were all suspended until October 20th following their losses. All of them were put down by TKO or knockout with the exception of Lopez, whose shoulder popped out in the second round of his bout with Jim Miller.
Shorter suspensions went to the rest of the fighters on the card, who were all suspended until either the 27th or 29th of this month.
Penick's Analysis: It's highly probable that Saturday was the last we've seen of Cro Cop in the Octagon. He looked like his will had been broken the more Dos Santos ate his punches and continued to move forward. He's already openly contemplated whether or not he has any reason to continue fighting, and his path to a Title shot in the UFC has been closed off. We may still see the Croatian return for another fight elsewhere, but it would be no shock if he's done after that fight.

The headlining bout between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans averaged 6.1 million viewers, meaning the peak number for the event will still come in somewhat higher than that. The opening bout between Demian Maia and Chris Weidman was seen by an average of four million viewers...
I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
