By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief The card for UFC's Fight Night 19 event in Oklahoma City has been shaken up almost as much as this weekend's Strikeforce event, and we've got some more changes on tap. Ed Herman, who had pulled out of his bout with Aaron Simpson to face Wilson Gouveia at UFC 102 as a replacement for James Irvin, only to have Gouveia go down with an injury shortly thereafter, is back to his original opponent and will face Aaron Simpson according to a report at MMAWeekly.com. The UFC confirmed the change Tuesday, though the bout will now be moved to UFC 102 instead of the previously thought Fight Night 19.
While Herman was preparing to face Gouveia, Simpson had already gotten a new opponent for the event in Dan Miller. So with Miller now without an opponent the UFC has kept him on the card and matched him up against Ultimate Fighter season seven runner-up C.B. Dollaway.
Dollaway is coming back from a loss at UFC 100 to Tom Lawlor, a very quick guillotine choke submission that put him out. Miller is looking to rebound from his first loss in the UFC to Chael Sonnen at UFC 98.
UFC 102 comes live on pay-per-view on August 29th from the Rose Garden in Portland, OR, headlined by a bout between Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira. UFC Fight Night 19 airs live on Spike TV on September 16th from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, OK, headlined by a bout between Nate Diaz and Melvin Guillard. It will serve as the lead in to the tenth season of the Ultimate Fighter.
(Editor's note: The original version of this story had Herman vs. Simpson at Fight Night 19. It has been updated with new information.)
Penick's Analysis: Good to see that Herman got himself back into this bout, as he had it set before as a payday on the way, only to step up on short notice and then have that fight fall through. Miller-Dollaway should be good, though Miller should be a heavy favorite coming into that one. Dollaway's got his wrestling base, and that's what Sonnen used to frustrate Miller and smother him through three rounds, but Dollaway's not as big a middleweight as Sonnen and won't be able to pull that off. Plus, he's shown himself to be vulnerable to submissions and Miller's certainly capable of pulling one off. Still, not a bad fight for a "Fight Night" card.
