Jon Jones' PR rep is downplaying the traffic citation he received last week for driving without a license, registration, or insurance, saying on Monday that it was a minor traffic stop and that Jones simply didn't have his information on him.

In comments made via a report from MMAJunkie.com, Denise White of Jones' crisis management firm EAG Sports said that Jones fully cooperated during the traffic stop before receiving the citation.

"He will be in traffic court on Wednesday like everyone else that gets a ticket," White said. "He is fully licensed and insured."

The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion will return to action at UFC 197 in April, taking on Daniel Cormier for a second straight time after spending the last 16 months out of the cage due to his hit and run from last year. He's on probation for that situation, and any serious violation could be potential grounds for revocation, though this is unlikely to be a serious infraction.

Penick's Analysis: If true, and Jones simply didn't have the information on him when pulled over for whatever reason, he'll be free and clear by providing that information during his traffic court appearance. If he can show proof that he had insurance, his license, and the registration for the vehicle all valid at the time of the stop, it's not going to be an issue.
