"I'm more like a 170-pounder. I weigh like 192, 193 [pounds] in the morning. I've got my weight down really low for this one. I really didn't get out of shape between fights, and it kept my weight down low. I've been just living a healthy lifestyle. I don't drink anymore, so I think that keeps the weight down, too... I don't mind making sacrifices. I've missed Christmases and Thanksgivings from my wrestling days to my fighting days. It's part of the sport, and it motivates me."

Penick's Analysis: I don't see Weidman in his frame ever attempting a welterweight drop, but his walk around weight being as low as it is puts him in the low end weight-wise of those competing at 185 lbs. He's talked about potentially moving up to light heavyweight in the past, and if he's starting from 192 lbs. or so, he's going to likely come in at a weight similar to Dan Henderson's light heavyweight attempts. Of course, there's time for him to put more weight on for that move, and being healthy and not having to cut much to make 185 lbs. is ultimately a good thing for him into this latest title defense.
