Michael Bisping is out of November's UFC 193 event in Melbourne, as it was reported on Wednesday's UFC Tonight program on Fox Sports 1 that he's suffered an elbow injury.
Per the report, Bisping will undergo a minor surgical procedure, and though it's only expected to keep him out for a few weeks, it won't leave him time to prepare for a scheduled fight with Robert Whittaker.
The bout was planned as a featured fight on the pay-per-view broadcast from Melbourne, Australia, which will emanate from Etihad Stadium in front of an expected record crowd. That Nov. 14 card will be headlined by Ronda Rousey's latest title defense against Holly Holm.
Penick's Analysis: Bisping-Whittaker was a slightly odd fight to begin with, but I'm sure the UFC would have liked to keep him on this card. Regardless, this sets Bisping up for any number of options later in the year or early in 2016, and shouldn't be too big of a setback.
