Brazil's Alex "Cowboy" Oliveira is heading back to lightweight after a couple of welterweight matchups, with Combate in Brazil reporting that he'll take on Piotr Hallmann at UFC Fight Night 77 in Sao Paulo.
Oliveira made his UFC debut on short notice, nearly defeating the unbeaten Gilbert Burns before getting caught in the third round. He stepped up for a short notice welterweight bout with K.J. Noons, scoring a first round submission, and then turned around quickly to fight Joe Merritt just four weeks later.
He'll get a full camp for this bout against Hallmann, who is in desperate need of a win after losses in two straight and three of his last four. Though he's picked up submission wins over Francisco Trinaldo and Yves Edwards, he's been beaten by Al Iaquinta, Gleison Tibau, and most recently Magomed Mustafaev.
UFC Fight Night 77 hits Sao Paulo on Nov. 21, headlined by the rubber match between Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort, airing live on Fox Sports 1.
