"I don't regret anything. Everything I said was very sincere. It was my point of view and what I believed in. I think I did a great job. The event was wonderful. It wasn't the result that I wanted, but I think everything that I said was something that I thought. I'm a very sincere person and I don't take back anything that happened. But of course this fight, I have a lot of lessons I learned. But I'm very satisfied with my job... I think she felt my strikes and she tried to grab me and I defended her takedown. I thought I was doing the right things. In that moment I felt like she connected with the punch and that's it. That's the fight."
-Despite losing in 34 seconds on Saturday at UFC 190, Bethe Correia expressed no regrets for any of her pre-fight trash talk during the post-fight press conference (transcribed by FoxSports.com).
Penick's Analysis: Correia's confidence in herself was genuine, and she never wavered despite what was readily apparent about that fight to everyone else. It's a credit to her that she's taking the loss as well as she did, and isn't back tracking after the fact. She said what she said, and believed it when she said it. Rousey proved her wrong and won the fight. Those are the facts. Correia still believes she'll be back in a similar spot in the future, and perhaps she'll bounce back with some wins over top ten opposition. That's still something she's yet to do, so there are things ahead of her even though she's become the latest to fall victim to Rousey.
