Ronda Rousey is fighting Bethe Correia in Correia's home country of Brazil this weekend, but she's not necessarily going to be in enemy territory.
The UFC Women's Bantamweight Champ requested the locale for this fight at UFC 190, and she's got quite a fanbase already there for her, as evidenced by the reaction she's receiving from the fans. The UFC passed along the below snippet on Twitter from today's open workouts, with Rousey meeting with fans and bringing tears to several in the process.
Rousey seeks her seventh defense of the title she initially won in Strikeforce in 2012.
Penick's Analysis: I'm not sure if it's an unexpected reaction for Rousey down in Brazil, but she's got tons of fan support from all accounts out of today's open workouts. Given this reaction afterward, that's very apparent. I don't know if that does anything significant for the dynamic of her fight with Correia, but it may be disconcerting to the challenger if her home country winds up backing the Champion on Saturday night.
