Josh Koscheck spent a decade in the UFC, with 25 of his 27 career fights happening inside the Octagon. However, now that he's fought out his final contract and has signed with Bellator, he's got a lot of things to get off his chest.
In an interview with BleacherReport.com, Koscheck said he took a fight with Erick Silva in a quick turnaround earlier this year simply to get out of his contract and work with Scott Coker in Bellator. On top of that, he ripped into UFC President Dana White now that he's no longer facing repercussions from the organization.
"How can you respect a guy that runs a company and goes on Twitter rants, who calls people all the names that he calls people? I think it's childish," Koscheck said. "He's supposed to be the president of a major company, a billion dollar company, and that's how he acts? You don't see Roger Goodell doing things like that. And you won't see Scott Coker going on Twitter and telling people they look goofy or fat. Or, 'we got that many years out of you, thanks for your money.' Come on. It's embarrassing. I don't want to work for a guy like that."
"...This is just my opinion, but I think Dana is just the front boy for the Fertittas. He's their little errand b****. They're losing fans every day because of the things he does. The UFC has done a great job. They built this sport. They put a lot of dollars in, and they took a lot of risk. I can respect the fact that he works his ass off. But there are other things that I can't respect."
Penick's Analysis: I'm sure there are a lot of fighters on the UFC roster who have similar feelings on White's continued Twitter outbursts and his historical demeanor, but aren't in a position to say anything similar. Given Koscheck's time in the organization, he'd been around it for longer than most, and had experienced things first hand with White. Saying things now won't necessarily change anything, of course, but he's got a platform with which to unload now, so him utilizing that isn't the least bit surprising.
