"The Cruz fight is one I'd love to have happen. Cruz never lost his belt in the ring. T.J. is definitely the undisputed world champion, and the fight doesn't need to happen, but I think it would be great if it does. T.J.'s footwork is way better than Cruz. There's little things Cruz does that the average viewer can't tell. T.J. is already on another level compared to Cruz."
-T.J. Dillashaw's striking coach Duane "Bang" Ludwig talks to FoxSports.com about why he thinks the UFC Bantamweight Champion is better than the man who never lost the belt, Dominick Cruz.
Penick's Analysis: While Cruz thinks Dillashaw is simply putting out something derivative of his style, Ludwig thinks Dillashaw's gone to another level. There's truth to both takes, because Dillashaw's game right now does look very similar to many of the things Cruz has done for years. However, Dillashaw has shown off a much more active and accurate striking game than Cruz put forth. Where Cruz's style is predicated on his speed and continuous movement, he was never one to do tons of damage to his opponents. Dillashaw has taken that speed and movement game to another level with serious power and accurate barrages. Saturday night's performance was something special, and if that matchup with Cruz happens next, he'll be given the chance to prove his coach right.
