Jessica Aguilar finally makes her UFC debut on August 1, taking on Claudia Gadelha in a No. 1 contender fight in the women's strawweight division.

The former WSOF Champ is intent on making a statement against Gadelha, and she believes she's going to make an even bigger statement after that against Champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

In an interview with MMAJunkie.com, Aguilar called Jedrzejczyk "one dimensional," and thinks she'll be able to take advantage of that.

"Joanna's a great stand up fighter, but only one dimensional. She has great takedown defense, but we haven't seen [her] on the ground. This fight is going to go on the ground. We're going to start standing, but you’re going to see a mix of everything.

"I think she's a great Champion, I think she's done her job well. Great stand up, very strong... With the right strategy, anybody can be beaten."

Penick's Analysis: Aguilar-Jedrzejczyk would be a fantastic title fight in that division. Jedrzejczyk-Gadelha II would as well, which makes the UFC 190 bout all the more intriguing, because both represent viable and entertaining options for the Champion to face later this year. Aguilar's getting her chance to prove she belongs and to prove she's every bit as good as has been believed. If she beats Gadelha, and manages to do against Jedrzejczyk what no one else has yet been able to do, she'll prove that and more.
