Uriah Hall tried to step in as a late replacement for last month's UFC Fight Night 69 event in Germany, but visa issues wouldn't allow him to compete on the card. The UFC didn't take long to book him in another fight, however, as they announced on Friday that he'll take on Joe Riggs at UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville on August 8.
Hall has had a very inconsistent run in the UFC thus far, showing some exciting and violent tendencies at times along with hesitation and timidity at others. The latter issues have kept him from putting a run together, and were a major factor in his split decision loss to Rafael Natal in May.
As for Riggs, the well-traveled 32-year-old will try to pick up his first win in the Octagon since August of 2006, as his return to the UFC last year brought about consecutive losses.
UFC Fight Night 73 will air live on Fox Sports 1, headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Ovince St. Preux and Glover Teixeira.
