Ronda Rousey's first legitimate co-starring role has gotten another high profile boost in casting, as The Hollywood Reporter passed along news on Thursday that Mark Wahlberg has joined the cast of "Mile 22."
Rousey was announced for the film earlier this year alongside the star of "The Raid" films Iko Uwais.
The UFC Champ may be getting relegated to a slightly lesser starring role, as the synopsis for the film pits Wahlberg in as the main character.
Per the report, the film "tells of a CIA agent (Wahlberg) stationed in Indonesia who is tasked with transporting a compromised informant from the center of the city to an awaiting getaway plane at an airport 22 miles away."
Production on the film was initially set to begin in May, but was pushed back to later this year.
Penick's Analysis: This raises the profile of her next project a bit further, and after relatively positive reviews of her performances in Furious 7 and Entourage this year, she's continuing to come along in her film career. She's still focusing quite a bit on fighting, but she's setting a future up for herself when she's ready to walk away, and that's great for her.
