There's just something about Michael Bisping that leads to contention with his opponents. Rarely does he enter a fight with mutual respect, instead spending much of the lead up into his fights trading barbs back and forth with whomever is stepping across the cage from him.
Such is the case once again into a fight with Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night 72 in Scotland later this month, with Bisping responding to Leites saying he would submit him in that main event bout.
Penick's Analysis: Have to give Bisping credit, even as his performances have failed to live up to the level he'd like to believe he's at, he keeps people interested, and continues to try riling up opponents. Will it work to do anything this time around? Maybe. But Leites is a significantly improved fighter from the fight Bisping is discussing here (Leites' infamously terrible fight with Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight Title). Bisping has always talked a big game, following through on July 18 could be a different story against the Leites he now faces.
