"I'm very confident [that fight will happen]. Obviously at the end of the day we're trying to make sure that we deliver a great event so we had to go out and we were able to talk to Chad Mendes and he jumped right up to the plate and said 'absolutely.' ... Even though all indications are that Jose will be fine, if something happens [Mendes] will step in and fight. So we had to put that in place... The facts that we have today are that we're treating it [like] the fight is on. All the marketing and everything is starting to roll out today, there's gonna be a massive push into the 11th. At the end of the day if Jose feels like he can't go then that's fine, we have a back up plan, and we'll turn things around and go in a different direction."

Penick's Analysis: They're really trying to put out the positivity, but I don't know how "all indications are that Jose will be fine." That hasn't seemed to be the case given comments made by Aldo's coach and his training partners. We'll find out later this week if he's going to try fighting on, but there's no guarantee it's happening, so I don't know why they're projecting quite as much confidence as they are on that fight happening.
