"It was great to be on TUF, my rivalry with Shogun has been reignited. This is a important fight for my career and though I didn't win the first one, it was a very close call, people talked about it a lot. So there's a lot of expectation for the rematch, which surely motivates me to train a lot."
-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira talks to Globo in Brazil about his rematch with Shogun Rua coming up this summer after "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4" (translated by Lucas Rezende at BloodyElbow.com).
Penick's Analysis: This rematch is happening more than ten years after the two of them first met, which by itself brings some intrigue because there hasn't been a rematch between fighters like this with that much time between the two fights. Their first bout was a Pride classic, and though it's impossible for this fight to be anything close to that, it's going to be interesting enough to see where the two of them are at now in 2015. If either of them has anything left to continue to compete in the UFC, we'll find that out on August 1 at UFC 190.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
