With Sean Spencer injured, Colby Covington has stepped in to fight Mike Pyle later this month at UFC 187 in Las Vegas.
The news was revealed on Saturday, and the fight is expected to air on the prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Covington, undefeated at 7-0, has been impressive thus far in his young MMA career. The 27-year-old has won both of his appearances in the UFC by submission, most recently scoring a choke over Wagner Silva in November.
He takes a significant step up against longtime veteran Pyle, who enters his 38th career fight at 39 years old. He's hoping to bounce back from his TKO loss at the hands of Jordan Mein last August.
UFC 187 hits Las Vegas on May 23, headlined by the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight between Anthony Johnson and Daniel Cormier.
