"It was a little bit nerve-wracking. I didn't know what the outcome was really gonna be. I knew that I was still gonna fight, but I just didn't know who. Honestly, I just wanted to know who I was fighting, and that's all. I didn't care who, I wanted to know if it was Jon or DC so I could go ahead and visualize the fight because nobody wants to wait until the last minute to find out who they're fighting... It's definitely not an easier fight. In my opinion it's gonna be a tougher fight because this is Daniel's second chance at a title and he's gonna bring it, so I'm looking forward to it...

All I know is that I visualize myself screaming with happiness at the end of the night. That's it, because hopefully I win the title. But I came to the conclusion that win, lose, or draw, I'm very proud of myself. A lot of people would have given up when they got kicked out of the UFC, but I didn't, and I faced so many demons and had so many battles and I'm still here. I came back and I came back stronger. So at the end of the night on May 23, regardless of what the result may be, I'm gonna be happy."

-Anthony "Rumble" Johnson talks to UFC.com about waiting on the Jon Jones situation this week and his matchup with Daniel Cormier at UFC 187.

Penick's Analysis: Johnson was going to have a tough fight on May 23, and he's still got a tough fight on May 23. It's good for his sake that he's not concerned much with whom it's coming against, because to hold onto that title anyway he'd have to beat all comers. This fight with Cormier is a difficult one for completely different reasons than the Jones fight would have been, of course, but obviously he's thankful the UFC made a quick decision to give him as much preparation time as possible for the change.
