With Daniel Cormier getting moved up to the UFC 187 main event against Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, his scheduled opponent at UFC Fight Night 68, Ryan Bader, has been left without a fight.
As of this evening, there's no update for whom the UFC will pit Bader up against, but if he has his way, he'll simply wait for the winner of that Cormier-Johnson fight.
To everyone asking, no word yet. My preference is to fight winner of AJ - DC make it 5 wins in a row and get the belt. Let's make it happen
Penick's Analysis: He's got valid arguments regarding where the rest of the division is at right now, but if the best option is a Ryan Bader title fight, that's not saying much for the division right now. That's no offense meant to Bader, but he's lost four times in this division over the last four and a half years. Though he's won four straight, he's only a year and a half removed from a KO loss to Teixeira. There's no clear fight for him on short notice, and a fight with the Cormier-Johnson winner could arguably be the right fight to make, but that's not all that enticing an option.
