Michael Bisping had to survive a first round knockdown against C.B. Dollaway at UFC 186 on Saturday night, but he came back to pick up a decision win in Montreal.
Dollaway cracked Bisping with a left hook in the first round, halting the momentum of the Brit who had to that point controlled the action with his active striking game. Dollaway failed to fully capitalize on the damage done, allowing Bisping to get his bearings back.
Over the final ten minutes, Bisping went back on the attack, and simply stayed much more active while Dollaway attempted to head hunt. He just didn't wind up doing much offensively down the stretch, and it ends as a missed opportunity for him, along with being a second straight loss. Bisping, meanwhile, bounces back from his loss to Luke Rockhold last fall.
In other undercard action on pay-per-view, bantamweight prospect Thomas Almeida took out Yves Jabouin in highly impressive fashion in the first round, while John Makdessi stopped late replacement Shane Campbell in the first as well.
